Case Study: Enhancing Security with T - Walls at Angore Well Pad B
Project Overview
To enhance security during plug and abandon activities for Rig 702 at Angore Well Pad B (WPB), EMPNG Wells required the fabrication and installation of precast concrete T-Walls. Turra was engaged to deliver 317 T-Walls, complete with security gates and razor wire, ensuring site protection while maximizing landowner participation and local workforce development.

Project Execution
Turra established an efficient process line at Laydown 9 (LD9) for the fabrication of the T-Walls. Once completed, the units were transported to Angore WPB and installed 2 meters off the existing fence, ensuring full compliance with security requirements.
Turra managed a seamless operation by:
Providing end-to-end engineering and construction expertise
Ensuring full responsibility for materials, workforce, and quality assurance
Leveraging deep PNG experience to navigate community engagement and project challenges
Key Achievements
Zero safety incidents: 130,000 hours worked with no injuries or incidents.
Empowered local workforce: 157 workers engaged, including 103 unskilled laborers from local communities.
Economic and community impact:
10 Riggers, Dogmen, and Scaffolders upskilled through Turra-funded training.
20 individuals with no prior work experience trained for future employment.
10 positions made available for women.
Project delivered ahead of schedule with no quality issues.
Successful site demobilisation, celebrated with a traditional Mumu, certificates of achievement, and reference letters for all workers.
Community Engagement & Legacy
Turra implemented a tailored HR engagement model, ensuring early landowner consultation and continuous communication throughout the project. This proactive approach fostered trust and collaboration between Turra, EMPNG Wells, and the community.
At project completion, workers were recognized with training certificates and reference letters, providing them with better employment opportunities. The initiative not only strengthened local employment but also set new benchmarks for project execution in the region.
